why does the Hispanic community enforce their women to be dependent on men?

Question by jazzy: why does the Hispanic community enforce their women to be dependent on men?

I’m half white and half Hispanic and the Hispanic side of my family is always asking me when am i gonna get married when am i gonna start having kids and they always say things make sure the guy you marry has money or a good job (which is irrelevant to me since i have a good career in progress and i take care of myself) (besides I’m only 21)the white side of my family is always telling me to go back to school and get my masters degree in case i ever has a change of heart with my current career and so on…all my Mexican cousins who are 20 yrs old all have children and none of them work and all my Irish cousins are all single with no children with college degrees why does the Hispanic community keep themselves (especially the women from succeeding in life) It seems like Hispanic women main goal in life is to find a man they can support them both financially and emotionally 100% (i agree most relationships should be 50/50) its kinda like they are raised to be incompetent of anything but having many children

I come from the same mix but I feel like its more of a “make the family bigger” thing then a “keep the women prego” thing.BTW my white side is more selfish and self centered and they encourage that in their kids.I think “To thyne own self be true” I rep the half breeds!

It might be the way they interpret their religion. Male dominant religions really encourage women dependence on men.

Divorced women who own homes…question for ya?

Question by justagirl: Divorced women who own homes…question for ya?
Do you do all the yard work and house maintenance by yourself, or are you able to afford paying someone for help with it all? I can’t afford help and do it all myself and I gotta admit, I’m tired, lol! Would it be really dastardly to start dating a lawnboy, window washer, mechanic, etc…different guy for each job, you know, so they don’t get worn out….

Okay, one of my sister’s friend is facing a lot for trouble from her husband who’s having an extra marital affair, but he is neither agreeing in giving divorce, the in-laws house is in Gujarat, but the wife is originally and presently in Hyderabad, another problem is that the guy used to work in Middle East, but after his return to home he ran away and his presence is unknown ?

Are there any laws that help her get divorce or force her in-laws to attend the court on behalf of their son?

Is there help for young divorced women?

Question by Profile Deleted: Is there help for young divorced women?
I guess I’ve read too many romance novels in my lifetime. I believed in love and thought leaving everything to marry my husband and start a wonderful life with him was going to bring me…well, us…happiness for a lifetime. Tomorrow is our one year anniversary and it just seems more like a disappointing day than anything since we’ve been planning on a divorce. I let college, the people I were staying with, and pretty much everything to follow him around with his military job. I have no money, no car, no college degree, and no hope right now.
Where can I get help? Can I get tuition assistance to live in college dorms? Can I get housing assistance? What can I do?
