Men. Is this really normal for guys or should I worry?

Question by cathoratio: Men. Is this really normal for guys or should I worry?
I pick up my husband’s phone to use it and see an open blackberry message chain with his two male cousins (they are mid 20’s – my hubby is mid 30’s). The message displayed from my hubby basically saying he hopes his doctor give him a “happy ending” at his next appointment. So I scroll up and see him telling his cousins how “hawt” his asian doctor is and how she caressed and caressed his arm and kept smiling during his appointment (broken wrist). His cousin said my hubby story is giving him a boner and my hubby said – yeah next appointment I hope she finishes me off.

This kind of crap really makes me feel bad and hurts my feelings. I’ve confronted him about porn and texting other women from his office and he acts like I am crazy to care at all.

I’m not asian, in fact I am as caucausian (pale Irish) as you can get and 7 months pregnant and getting zero sex (not my doing it makes him nervous to possibly “hurt the baby”). I think him discussing his desires and boners with his cousins is 1) weird and 2) disrespectful to me as his cousins probably think he is not getting good “service” from me since he is always telling them his fantasies for other women (his cousins sometimes send nude pix out and they all droll over some chick together) and talk about co-workers giving them wood (his cousins are single and 10 years younger).

My female friends and I do not talk about hoping our male doctor will show us his junk. In fact I don’t even think that.

Do you tell male friends when you get a boner (or watch soft core porn with male buddies)? I think a bunch of dudes enjoying sitting around together with erections is weird. I caught he and 5 of his male friends watching something like this on another occassion when they said they were going out to play basketball.
BTW since I know what people always say. I am not FAT. People tell me I look like Winona Ryder (from Heathers) and I love sex (my hubby is the one who is “tired”)

Relationship Therapist, Relationship Counselor, Couples Counseling, Marriage Counselor, Relationship Therapist… You can just mix and match and choose as you please!

Your ‘other’ comes home from work, and heads straight for the bottle of vodka stashed in the freezer. You haven’t had a real conversation for weeks. A few arguments over money or late nights out, sure, but no heart-to-hearts. Sex? What’s that?

GUESS WHAT?

Your relationship is on the rocks, and you both know it. But you aren’t sure how to fix things — or if you really want to. With ‘help’ from the right people, you can recognize the problems you two are facing and either find your answer by parting seperate ways… or THEY can help you understand your relationship better and make a well-thought-out decision on what to do.

THAT IS WHEN THEY CALL YOU!

As far as a career project, throw down an improv… an act.. get a few friends dress them up and tell them to act badly. Pretend to help them, sit them down run them through the usual and have them kiss and make-up.. Points for creativity and productivity.

Honestly, if you are looking to follow this for life, do your research… and if you still love the idea of helping them out and watching couples walk away happy, GOOD LUCK. i am sure anyone would be lucky!

What do older divorced women really want?

Question by survivor: What do older divorced women really want?
I’ve divorced and started dating again. Of course since I’m divorced and have 2 children, i really don’t have a ton of money to spread around. it’s pretty scarce like a single mom’s cash flow. problem is i meet these single moms or divorced women and it seems they’re looking for another dad for their kid or want some guy that has all this money to do stuff to help take care of their kid(s). it seems they’re unrealistic in their dating and it’s like they’re holding out for Mr. wonderful with no baggage and tons of cash when they have their own baggage. what’s the most important thing a single mom looks for or even an older woman that’s been through a divorce. I think a lot of divorced people think the grass is greener and spend their life looking for something they’ll never get and regret getting divorced (it wasn’t my choice to get divorced). then these women wonder why they can’t find a good man? it boggles my mind sometimes.

*******************************************

This is a continuation of Flickr sets that I created in 2010 (shown here), 2009 (shown here), and 2008 (shown here) — which, collectively, illustrate a variety of scenes and people in the small "pocket park" known as Verdi Square, located at 72nd Street and Broadway in New York City’s Upper West Side, right by the 72nd St. IRT subway station.

I typically visit a local gym once or twice a week, and I get there by taking the downtown IRT express from my home (at 96th Street) down to the 72nd Street stop. Whenever possible, I try to schedule an extra 30-60 minutes to sit quietly on one of the park benches, and just watch the flow of people coming in and out of the park — sometimes just passing through, to get from 72nd Street up to 73rd Street, but mostly entering or exiting the subway station.

You see all kinds of people here: students, bums, tourists, office workers, homeless people, retired people, babysitters, children, soldiers, sanitation workers, lovers, friends, dogs, cats, pigeons, and a few things that simply defy description. Sometimes you see the same people over and over again; sometimes they follow a regular pattern at a particular time of the day.

If I focus on the people entering the park at 73rd Street, and walking southwards toward the subway entrance, I typically have five or ten seconds to (a) decide if they’re sufficiently interesting to bother photographing,(b) wait for them to get in a position where I can get a clear shot of them, and (c) focus my camera on them and take several shots, in the hope that at least one or two of them will be well-focused and really interesting.

While you might get the impression that I photograph every single person who moves through this park, it’s actually just the opposite: the vast majority of people that I see here are just not all that interesting. (It’s not that they’re ugly, it’s just that there’s nothing interesting, memorable, or distinctive about them.) Even so, I might well take, say, 200 shots in the space of an hour. But some of them are repetitive or redundant, and others are blurred or out-of-focus, or technically defective in some other way. Of the ones that survive this kind of scrutiny, many turn out to be well-focused, nicely-composed, but … well … just "okay". I’ll keep them on my computer, just in case, but I don’t bother uploading them.

Only about 5% of the photos I’ve taken get uploaded to Flickr — e.g., about 10 photos from a one-hour session in which a thousand, or more, people have walked past me. So it is indeed only a tiny, tiny subset of the "real" street scene in New York City. On the other hand, it is reassuring to see that there are at least a few "interesting" people in a city that often has a reputation of being mean, cold, and heartless…

Do rich men really have all the advantages when it comes to dating?

Question by .: Do rich men really have all the advantages when it comes to dating?
I guess it’s a stereotype that men who are wealthy, has a good job and all, they have all the advantages in getting the women they want.

Me, I’m unemployed (but going to school to get a career) and I can’t get a woman. Even if I had my s*** together, I wouldn’t get a woman if she was all the about the money. I don’t like gold diggers.

Do rich men really have all the advantages when it comes to relationships? They could get any woman they desire?

Best answer:

Answer by just say it
No. Money can do strange things to people…My husband has a friend that felt money and good looks were the “be all end all” – he’s now 38 with no relationship, living alone, miserable and slowly turning into a pill popper and alcoholic…money isn’t everything!

Steve Harvey, the host of the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, can’t count the number of impressive women he’s met over the years, whether it’s through the “Strawberry Letters” segment of his program or while on tour for his comedy shows. These are women who can run a small business, keep a household with three kids in tiptop shape, and chair a church group all at the same time. Yet when it comes to relationships, they can’t figure out what makes men tick. Why? According to Steve it’s because they’re asking other women for advice when no one but another man can tell them how to find and keep a man. In Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, Steve lets women inside the mindset of a man and sheds lights on concepts and questions such as:

—The Ninety Day Rule: Ford requires it of its employees. Should you require it of your man?

—How to spot a mama’s boy and what if anything you can do about it.

—When to introduce the kids. And what to read into the first interaction between your date and your kids.

—The five questions every woman should ask a man to determine how serious he is.

— And more…

Sometimes funny, sometimes direct, but always truthful, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man is a book you must read if you want to understand how men think when it comes to relationships.

Are we really judging someone’s fitness to be President based on their marital issues?

Question by Megara: Are we really judging someone’s fitness to be President based on their marital issues?
If you think this is a strong basis upon which to judge someone’s fitness for office… do you think your own personal life would withstand public scrutiny, if every single detail about everything you’ve ever done was brought into the limelight by the media? Would your marriage survive? And would you be electable?
