Does anyone think that it’s wrong to “Take him for everything he has” during a divorce?

Question by Sweetpea has two boys: Does anyone think that it’s wrong to “Take him for everything he has” during a divorce?
I’ve noticed a lot of people in divorces, women especially, just rape their husbands with alimony, child support, everything they can get, leaving the man with just a cardboard box of torn photographs and 2,000 buck a month to hand over to woman who doesn’t love him anymore. Does anyone else think this is wrong? I mean, yeah, he needs to help with the kids, but, geez, the divorcee has to live to!
Also, I’m not the one getting divorced. My father in law is. and she’s trying to screw him/.

Yes I agree.
Except when the torn photographs that he’s left holding are pornographic shots of all the other women he was screwing during the marriage. He should have thought about that when he was taking those..

Why do so many American Women feel it’s okay to just have children by different men and be single?

Question by J: Why do so many American Women feel it’s okay to just have children by different men and be single?
It’s just normal nowadays that American Women are single and have children by different men. Why can’t they get married or be in a committed relationship before they have kids? Why don’t they think about their children’s future? If they can’t do that, then just be alone.

I agree 100%. Sadly, the media and America’s pop cultural icons/celebrities make it look cool and hip to have a ton of kids by different men without thinking about the possible consequences and hardships that can result from it.

Although I will also say that men also have a responsibilty as well.

Notice how as this issue situation is growing, kids in public schools are becoming more unruly and crime in our society is increasing.

Title of a movie – It’s about a Irish single mom who pays a man to pose as her husband to her daughter (2005?)

Question by Jonathan E: Title of a movie – It’s about a Irish single mom who pays a man to pose as her husband to her daughter (2005?)
I saw a trailer on a movie of which I cannot remember and wanted to see it. I forgot all about it until yesterday and have been racking my brain trying to figure it out. I think the movie may have been produced in 2005 however I’m not sure. I’m not sure if the single mom is irish but I do remember that the movie was in ireland. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

You might be thinking of the movie “Dear Frankie,” about an Irish single mom who has written letters from her estranged husband to her son Frankie for awhile, then finds herself needing to pay a man to act as his father. I believe it was made in Ireland; all the actors are Irish anyway. Don’t know the year but very recent, last couple of years.

It’s Hard to Find a Friend

It’s Hard to Find a Friend

Remixed, remastered and repackaged with a brand new layout and lyrics for the 1st time according to David Bazan’s specifications.Pedro the Lion established themselves in the indie-emo scene with their debut EP, Whole, and its fluid melodies and dynamic changes. But if the band’s full-length debut is any indication, band leader David Bazan’s heart lies closer to the singer/songwriter ethos. It’s Hard to Find a Friend is at once confessional, intimate, and honest, with clean melodies and simple arrangements (bare bones guitar, bass, and drums; few overdubs or accouterments). These songs belie an underground awareness perfectly fused with pop sensibilities. Bazan’s understated baritone voice and simple guitar technique deliver heartbreaking ditties that resonate on an emotional level. And his sad love songs take on an Old Testament quality as they play out the story behind them. –Brad Caviness

All You Need Is Love and Other Lies About Marriage: How to Save Your Marriage Before It’s Too Late

All You Need Is Love and Other Lies About Marriage: How to Save Your Marriage Before It’s Too Late

Why is it so difficult to remain married in the twenty-first century, and what can you do about it?

We all know that half of today’s marriages end in divorce, but we tend to believe that our own marriages are safe. As psychiatrist John Jacobs explains in this fresh and impassioned book, marriages today are incredibly fragile, and unless a couple understands what is making contemporary marriage so vulnerable to dissolution, the marriage is at risk.

Part of the problem is that people refuse to see how social and historical forces have changed the very meaning of marriage, causing serious interpersonal unhappiness. Because of increased longevity, married people live together longer than at any time in history. There’s been an erosion of the social and cultural forces that traditionally kept marriages together. Confusion over gender-role responsibilities, increased expectations of sexual satisfaction, and intense time pressures on couples to work and be successful all create marital stress.

And yet, most people don’t acknowledge the problems in their marriage until it is too late. We tend to believe in the “lies of marriage” — such concepts as soul mates, unconditional love, that children improve a relationship, that the sexual revolution has made marital sex more pleasurable, or that egalitarian marriage offers couples easy solutions — and forget to engage in the constant hardwork required to keep our marriages alive.

Dr. Jacobs believes that most marriages have significant problems at some time, but until we recognize the new realities of marriage and develop the skills required to sustain a loving, intimate relationship, marriages are at risk.

Of course marriage is about love. But that’s just the beginning.
