Question by veggie: Can my friend find help to care for his mentally disabled brother?
My friend is 35, he lives with his fathers of old age and a mentally disabled brother. He’s very intelligent but has not been able to do anything in life (not even a girlfriend) since the brother has become a burden. The brother has the mind of a baby and the body of a wrestler and my friend is the only one that can control him. the brother can become violent and the parents are fragile (the father is also a bit mentally unstable). They are poor and live of social security and welfare. The state (Puerto Rico) does not provide institutionalized care. What can he do? He’s throwing his life away!

Suggestion: send the brother to New York. Cost of living is high but it may provide institutionalized care. The smart brother can go to one of the universities there if he really is as intelligent as you say.

Well if he knows someone who would like to write a book and wouldn’t mind writing it with him then well there’s a coauthor or if you or another friend of his wouldn’t mind helping him write it then that’s another solution.

My friend told me last weekend that she made a mistake for choosing her boyfriend. She said he smokes alot, wants sex alot, & kind of treats her like crap, so she dumped him.
