I’m looking into starting a dating service & I can’t find anything on the Rules & Regulations of operation?

Question by sweethope2004: I’m looking into starting a dating service & I can’t find anything on the Rules & Regulations of operation?
I need to know more about what kind of rules I need to follow while I’m running a dating service? I dont’ want to get into some trouble while I’m operating this service to the community. What rules do I need to follow when takeing money, applications, doing interviews, do I need to do background checks? Things like that?

There are no government requirements for operating a dating service, except, of course, that you have to be registered as a business in your state and sometimes in your city.

But even though there are not regulations governing your operation, you have to watch out for all kinds of potential liability. There are child molesters, 14-year old teeny boppers who think it would be cool to have boyfriend who is 30, sexual predtors of all kinds, and so forth.

There are two basic ways to protect yourself. You can do a good job of screening people that you let become members, or you can make it very clear that you do NOT screen people at all. In that latter case, you would warn people time and again that they need to protect themselves from strangers and that you do not control who uses your service. Screening is expensive, but it gives you much greater protection than a disclaimer.

All in all, you need to talk with an experieced lawyer. You need someone who understands businesses and also understands issues like sexual harrassment, stalkers, and so forth. Spend some time and some money on good legal advice before you start your business.

BTW, one of the best ways to learn about what to look out for–and this applies to ANY business–is to spend some time working in the same or similar kind of business for someone else. If your situation allows it, I strongly suggest you see if you can get a job working for a social networking site, a dating service, or any sort of similar business. A few months with hands on experience can save you lots of time and money avoiding mistakes.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!

Please help me..Why can’t I trust my husband that he is not into online dating chat or having cybersex ?

Question by Anita: Please help me..Why can’t I trust my husband that he is not into online dating chat or having cybersex ?
When I was starting out a career in sales which I love most, I caught my husband getting into chats and collecting nude pics of young women in his PC. I was devastated then because I was really bent into making a living for us so he can get out of his former company which he said was hell. I was really trying my best to earn enough so he can resign and find a job he really love. So, I stopped working and was so insecured then. He showed me all his e-mails and gave me his passwords.
But up to now, I just can’t help but distrust him. He stays in the office very long because he was working he said. How can I trust him again? Is there a way that I’d be able to know if he is into it again? Why would he clear up his chat messages?
I caught him because I logged on to his chat box and saw some chats there. Please if you know any way that I’ll be able to know if he is into chat again? Is there something wrong with me? I always trust my instincts, thats why I am so SAD now.

Well, you married a real winner, but when men sit around not working, this sort of thing is made worse.

Try talking with him, and hopefully, this will be able to snap him out of it if he realizes how serious and harmful it is. I hope that he loves and cares for you enough to change.

This is a continuation of Flickr sets that I created in 2010 (shown here), 2009 (shown here), and 2008 (shown here) — which, collectively, illustrate a variety of scenes and people in the small "pocket park" known as Verdi Square, located at 72nd Street and Broadway in New York City’s Upper West Side, right by the 72nd St. IRT subway station.

I typically visit a local gym once or twice a week, and I get there by taking the downtown IRT express from my home (at 96th Street) down to the 72nd Street stop. Whenever possible, I try to schedule an extra 30-60 minutes to sit quietly on one of the park benches, and just watch the flow of people coming in and out of the park — sometimes just passing through, to get from 72nd Street up to 73rd Street, but mostly entering or exiting the subway station.

You see all kinds of people here: students, bums, tourists, office workers, homeless people, retired people, babysitters, children, soldiers, sanitation workers, lovers, friends, dogs, cats, pigeons, and a few things that simply defy description. Sometimes you see the same people over and over again; sometimes they follow a regular pattern at a particular time of the day.

If I focus on the people entering the park at 73rd Street, and walking southwards toward the subway entrance, I typically have five or ten seconds to (a) decide if they’re sufficiently interesting to bother photographing,(b) wait for them to get in a position where I can get a clear shot of them, and (c) focus my camera on them and take several shots, in the hope that at least one or two of them will be well-focused and really interesting.

While you might get the impression that I photograph every single person who moves through this park, it’s actually just the opposite: the vast majority of people that I see here are just not all that interesting. (It’s not that they’re ugly, it’s just that there’s nothing interesting, memorable, or distinctive about them.) Even so, I might well take, say, 200 shots in the space of an hour. But some of them are repetitive or redundant, and others are blurred or out-of-focus, or technically defective in some other way. Of the ones that survive this kind of scrutiny, many turn out to be well-focused, nicely-composed, but … well … just "okay". I’ll keep them on my computer, just in case, but I don’t bother uploading them.

Typically, only about 5-10% of the photos I’ve taken get uploaded to Flickr — e.g., about 10 photos from a one-hour session in which a thousand, or more, people have walked past me. There are some exceptions to this rule of thumb, as was the case with this particular set — but nevertheless, what you’re seeing it is indeed only a tiny, tiny subset of the "real" street scene in New York City. On the other hand, it is reassuring to see that there are at least a few "interesting" people in a city that often has a reputation of being mean, cold, and heartless…

Why does schools now work with student direct lending i like sallie mae way better why can’t we choose?

Question by AngleRBeautiful: Why does schools now work with student direct lending i like sallie mae way better why can’t we choose?
sallie mae loans always gave out disbursements dates direct loans never do they say they don’t have that info which is a lie now i don’t know what’s going on with my loans cause my school won’t tell me anything they never did when i was with sallie mae i had to look at my account myself to see when my loans would disburse not i don’t know anything

Answer by Anonymous
The interest rates and fees were higher for DIRECT loans, and there were lots of bankers getting fat wallets at the expense of poor college students…. so the gov passed a law effectively eliminating that program. All student loans must go through your school now. Most schools have web-portal access to their financial aid records giving you internet access to your award letter, loan and grant amounts as well as disbursement dates. Not every school is going to tell you this right away.. they prob have it and you don’t even know about it.

Why can’t I use the email friend finder anymore for Yahoo! contacts on Facebook?

Question by L.S.: Why can’t I use the email friend finder anymore for Yahoo! contacts on Facebook?
I know I have done it a couple of times in the past, the email friend finder tool on Facebook. I enter in my Yahoo address and then immediately now an error comes up: “We can’t import contacts from this address yet.” What happened? Why isn’t Yahoo supported anymore, and any other way to easily check Facebook for my Yahoo email address book contacts? Thanks!
