Slightly illegally parked…

nevermind!
It made for a good photo…

I love Mini’s
I really do 🙂 I have been pretty much obsessed with them since they decided to bring them back from the dead. I followed it obsessively, consumed any and all media about the new Mini Cooper (mostly print in those days) – begged, pleaded and considered bribing my way into the Mini Cooper launch back in 2000 or 2001. My friend Lisa even made me wear a suit… a suit with a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath, we felt it fit more with the target demographic (ironically after chatting to the national marketing manager on Sunday – the target demographic for Mini includes everyone). I was trying to work out if how and when I’d ever be able to afford a Mini – my financial situation at that point completely sucked. I was consistently broke. So maybe it wasn’t going happen…

Fast forward…
I’m living in Melbourne and I arrange to have dinner with this handsome guy (met through an online dating site). He drove a Mini!!!! I was chatting a friend after our first date (Larry dropped me home) and the first thing I said after saying how smart and handsome he was – was that a drove a Mini! I am obsessed! Seriously.

Unfortunately we had to sell the Cooper S last year 🙁 very regretful sale… I always had it in mind that we’d be a Mini family. I’ve been following the development of the Countryman since it appeared as a concept (so much easier these days with online blogs and "spy photos" that are part of the marketing activity). I got to go to my second Mini launch (and my second car launch!). I love it – I don’t know it if it’s perfect for us, I don’t even know if we can afford it! I would like a Countryman S but that’s proving to be too expensive and after driving this today – I would say this has enough zip for what I need. I just can’t do the smurf colour combination…
