Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2005

IslamiCity.com today officially announced their first ever IC Marriage.com Luncheon and Matchmaking Event: Where Hearts Meet Offline. On Sunday, September 18, 2005, the Lakewood Country Club & Golf Course conveniently located between Los Angeles and Orange County will serve as a venue for this IslamiCity matchmaking event to assist marriage minded Muslims in meeting that special someone.

The Luncheon will occupy the entire Lakewood Country Club allowing for a maximum of 400 single Muslim men and women to co-mingle in an interactive social. All attendees will take part in this four hour matchmaking event beginning promptly at 10:30am and ending at 2:30pm. Where Hearts Meet Offline is designed to help interested parties meet face to face and avoid the uncomfortable moments of mismatched blind dates. To pre-register for this one of a kind event, visit www.icmarriage.com/event.

“Our communities often struggle in organizing meeting opportunities for singles here in Southern California.” explains Angela Collins, IslamiCity.com’s Matchmaking Event Director. “Many second generation Muslims don’t have the same traditions their parents grew up with in making formal introductions between families. So often online dating sites remedy the need to know prospects without dating.”

Online dating and chatting sites have become a very popular tool on the Internet. While there are many dating sites exclusively designed for Muslims looking for marriage, www.icmarriage.com is a unique addition. Their mission is to provide a tool Where Hearts Meet Online. It is comprehensive in matchmaking interests and backgrounds by the answers one provides in the profile menu. Those answers serve to promote their slogan: To the World you may be one Person, but to one Person you may be the World.”

Where Hearts Meet Offline is an opportunity for singles ranging from 18-60 from all cultural backgrounds, professions and perspectives sharing a common belief in Islam to participate in personal introductions and matchmaking activities facilitated by IC Marriage Moderators.

Angela Collins explains her idea to promote and protect the identity of those attending. “Rather than handing your business card with your personal information and address to a complete stranger at the event, I am working with IslamiCity to create picture profile cards. These cards will include a photo, a username and the top interests of each of the registered attendees of the event. If someone is extroverted in nature, they can give this card to a potential candidate or if introverted, can use one of the six Moderators in the ballroom to hand that card to the person they would like to receive it. Either way, both parties know who has an interest for further communication on www.icmarriage.com.

The need for this kind of event grew with a request for introductions but a lack of coordination to facilitate this. For this reason, many take it upon themselves to assemble their own personal meetings, even though this is not an ideal approach in the community.

“The trouble begins when it comes time to meet face to face. That same meeting is much like the results of a blind date. “This isn’t what I expected.” Many have flown across the country and sometimes across the world to meet this love interest cultivated on the Internet. Face to face, the experience can be entirely different. And if it doesn’t go well, these singles are without friends and family in a foreign city with a foreign man or woman. There is great danger in such encounters,” Ms. Collins warns of this common method in meeting offline. “This matchmaking event serves to give those same singles the ability to work in reverse: Meet that man or women who captured your attention and then get to know them online.”

What’s coming to www.icmarriage.com? Selected profiles of the week sent to your inbox weekly. New profiles will be sent to Plus Plan Members as an informal introduction of likely matches. “Every day over 70 new people here in America join the site” announces Mustafa Karamate, the Technical Director of www.icmarriage.com. “This is an advantage to our members as they have a much larger arena of potential matches than just 11 months ago when we first started this popular site.”
