marriage counseling

Our first time snowshoeing. We decided to try a 6 mile round trip walk around Trillium Lake (we realized later on that this was probably a bit ambitious for our first time out). It was raining hard as we set off. On our way back, the rain had turned to snow and it was an outright blizzard. I had planned on taking more photos, but as it was wet and dark, photography was a challenge (the lens kept getting wet and/or fogging up).
This was a fun trip, but hard work. It took us 8 hours from the time we left the truck (at sunset). The walk back ended up being a serious test in endurance. As physically challenging as it was, though, it was awesome to be alone together in such an amazing setting. Despite the cold and the burning muscles, neither of us ever got a pissy attitude – we encouraged each other every step of the way and felt immensely proud of one another when we had survived the challenge. I’d recommend this over marriage counseling any day. Ha!
